There was once an airplane approaching airport Mihai Kogalniceanu in Constanta, Romania. Beautiful weather, almost no wind, perfect visibility, perfectly dry runway... "Tower, we are Tarom flight number "n", we ask permission to land". Wheels long since out, runway a few meters below, airplane almost touching it... - when the guy in the control tower started to yell: "Fail the landing! Fail the landing!!"
"Sorry?!?!?!"
"Fail the landing!!!!"
What the heck...? What would you do in this situation? Having to miss the landing in almost perfect conditions... The pilot saw no reason for it, but fortunately he did obey the command.
Only to find out that there has just been one of those earthquakes occurring in Romania once in a few decades...
